Jelapang toll claimed 7 more lives
Another fatal accident happened at the Jelapang toll. And Samy Vellu is again very quick to give new deadline to relocate the dangerous toll plaza.
Didn't we hear this couple of months back already? Similar accident, where heavy lorry or bus can't break in time and crash the toll plaza? What did our beloved Public Work minister Samy Vellu said back then? The government will ask PLUS to relocate the toll plaza. Perak Menteri Besar also concurred, saying the decision is final.
Fast-forward to December 2007, the dangerous toll plaza is still there. Why? Any rational citizens will agree that the relocation work should be speed up, since the Jelapang stretch is a major road and countless number of heavy vehicles ply that road everyday. Why wait for accident to announce a new, extended deadline? Welcome to the typical Malaysian politic.
